A Caribbean girl in America, Isa (pronounced EYE-suh) is an entrepreneur, author, skydiver, and classical pianist. She is the founder and CEO of Squad, the fun way to build a world of your closest friends--away from social media. Named top 100 MIT Alumni in Tech in 2021, Isa is a physical scientist turned social scientist, building the next generation's social connection tool.
Across every experience—from creating and testing new compounds in the lab to training for my next classical piano recital—I know I can always count on three constants in my life: my 100% commitment to my vision, my dedication to keeping it real, and my responsibility to help make this world a better place.
In my latest professional venture as a founder and CEO, this is truer than ever before. Experiencing first hand the isolation that social media causes, I set out to build the next huge social experience for people and their friends. When I'm not working, you can find me searching for a Steinway Grand to play in New York City, or skydiving upstate.
Deep roots in science and math drove Isa from a high school student working in a college lab to a diabetes chemist and data scientist at Pfizer. Oh, and she dropped by Cornell for an MS in Pharmacology (the more fun version of Biochemistry) along the way.
Taking her scientific training to the business world involved an MBA from MIT and a fast rise through the corporate ladder at JP Morgan Chase, where she ultimately drove initiatives across the United States and Asia as a Vice President of Strategy.
Pushing the envelope in the corporate world ultimately inspired Isa to launch her own venture—Squad. This high growth company is quickly emerging as a significant player in the social app landscape--as the fun, voice-only, world building app for close friends.
